DETAILS: The Inn on the Blues is a blues club, restaurant and bar that seats about 100 people, and regularly features blues bands and artists from New England, as well as some touring national artists. It is a very pleasant room, and great for acoustic music, located right in the heart of downtown York Beach at Short Sands (looking at the ocean!), and serves a full menu of blues food (a lot of barbeque!) and drinks. Smoking is permitted, (though it is not what you would call a smoky place) and no one under 21 is allowed in without parent or guardian. There is not a bad seat in the house, and food is served all day, dinner til 9 then pub menu till 11pm. Call the Inn 207-351-3221 for dinner or hotel reservations. (They do have about 12 rooms for rent upstairs, with ocean view.) There is almost infinite parking across the street in the municipal lot. Travel time from Portsmouth NH is about 15-18 minutes.

Wheelchair access: almost (3 steps)

Workshop/Master Class: none yet (we hope we can talk him into it)

About Dick Gaughan: Dick Gaughan has been a pillar of modern Scottish ballad singing and guitar playing for over 25 years, and is one of the most important voices in modern Celtic music. His unbelievably powerful and distinctive (and very Scottish) voice and his innovative and masterful guitar work are legendary, and his body of recorded work is revered world-wide as some of the finest traditional and modern folk music ever. He has toured very little in the US during his career, and has never performed in the Seacoast. This is a rare opportunity to hear one of the great acoustic musicians of our time in an intimate setting. This show will sell out, so if you want a seat, get your ticket early.
